Classification by IP degree

The first digit presents the protection degree of preventing the solid foreign body from entering,From 0 to 6.
0:Unprotected, no special protection against external person or thing
1:Prevent the solid foreign body not less than 50mm in diameter from entering
2:Prevent the solid foreign body not less than 12.5mm in diameter from entering
3:Prevent the solid foreign body not less than 2.5mm in diameter from entering
4:Prevent the solid foreign body not less than 1mm in diameter from entering
5:Dust proof, though it could not prevent the dust from entering completely, the invading dust would not affect the machine’s normal performance
6:Dust tight, dust free
The second digit presents the protection degree of preventing water from entering,From 0 to 9k
0:Unprotected, no special protection against water and moisture
1: Protection against dropping in vertical direction, the vertical dropping should be without harmful effects
2:Prevent the vertical water-drop from immersing into the shell when it is at a tilt of 15°
3:Prevent the spraying water from immersing into the shell, such as rain water and spraying water at a tilt of 60°
4:Prevent the splashing water in all directions from immersing into the shell
5: Protection against water from nozzle in all directions
6: Protection against intense praying water (without harmful effect after spraying the shell strongly in all directions)
7:Protection again short-time water immersion, The inflow will not have harmful effect after the shell immersion in the water with regulated pressure for certain time
8: Protection against submersion, prevent the pressurized water from entering into the shell after long-time submersion
9K:Up to the highest waterproof standard, even under high pressure cleaning and steam cleaning

Classification by environmental resistance degree
The environmental resistance is the important quality characteristic which is the main factor to affect the reliability during transportation, storage and use .
Wain has M series of shells for highly corrosive environment and vibration-proof shells for rail transit. Application environment is the basis of the reliability design and environmental resistance design. The typical application environments usually are vibration, shock, temperature, moisture, salt spray etc.
Take salt spray test data as example, WAIN conducted a neutral salt spray test according to the criterion and the tested anticorrosion product could meet the highest requirement of salt spray 720h in current industry.

Classification by electrical shielding
To make sure normal operation under electromagnetic environment and avoid unbearable electromagnetic interference, Wain has launched high sensitive inter shells which is with protection degree up to IP67 or IP68.The process on shell’s surface finishing has been improved. The shells are more anticollision and antifouling while preserving its original metallic after the original surface finishing process combining with blasting or rolling polishing technology.

Classification by material(plastic or metal)
WAIN plastic shells are made from PA6+30%GF,which has high mechanical strength ,lightweight ,and lower cost compared with metal shells. This kindof plastic is suitable for indoor applications which require chemical resistance. Under normal condition,plastic shells have superior chemical resistance,such as alkali、mellow wine、ether、ketone、hydrocarbon、oil,and soap,fresh water,sea water etc.
Most of WAIN metal shells are made from aluminium alloy and zinc alloy,with higher hardness, strength and longer working life.
